Sync onFrançais

Privacy

Palier keeps your practice in your browser. When sync is on, which it is unless you turn it off, a copy of your progress is also kept on Palier’s server, so your other devices can have it. This page says exactly what that copy holds, and what never leaves your device.

What the server holds, when sync is on

A random account id, a scrambled (hashed) secret for each device, your language and target settings, which milestones and streak notes you have already been shown, and a copy of your progress: your answers, your review schedule and your exam results. No name, no email, no department, no free text, and nothing that identifies you.

What Palier never holds

These stay on your device, under every setting:

Nor does the server keep your IP address, beyond using it for a moment to limit abuse, and nothing links an anonymous item statistic to your account.

What is deleted on a schedule

An account with no activity for 180 days is deleted from the server, with everything it holds. Anything you delete is gone from the server within 90 days.

Who else is involved

OpenAI, only if you add a key: the paid features call OpenAI on your own account, under your own agreement with them. Palier’s server never keeps your key; it sees it only for a moment when you start a studio conversation, to open it with OpenAI, and not even then if you point studio mode at an endpoint of your own in the key settings. Vercel hosts the site. Nobody else.

No tracking

No analytics, no advertising, and no cookies that would need a banner. Anonymous statistics on how items perform are sent only if you say yes after a mock exam, and they are off until you do.

Your controls

Export everything to a file, import it back, or delete everything, on this device and on the server, in one step each. Sync can be turned off at any time, and turning it off offers to delete the server’s copy.
